In this process, a batch of melted glass is heated up in a furnace. For the glass to shape correctly, it must be heated to the appropriate temperature and quality. When the glass is finished, the artisan gathers it on the tip of a blowpipe. They then slip it onto the blowing mold. Air is blown into the pipe to expand the glass, filling the mold. This process is very critical, and the craftsman should be careful yet quick to preserve the shape and keep the glass from cooling too quickly. Otherwise, the glass might harden too soon, and it would lose the desired shape.
